Scania builds heavy trucks, buses and engines, and provides financing, insurance and related services to transport operators. Founded in Sweden in 1891, the company employs over 50,000 people and operates in more than 100 countries. It is part of the TRATON Group, working alongside other commercial vehicle brands.

The vehicle range is built on a modular system, allowing trucks to be configured to individual customer requirements while holding quality and efficiency constant. Buses form a second part of the portfolio. Engines are manufactured for a range of applications, including units designed to run on renewable fuels. Financing and insurance sit alongside the vehicles, as do supporting services covering the operational life of the fleet.

Technical work spans electrification of vehicle fleets, renewable-fuel powertrain technology, autonomous vehicle systems and modular vehicle design. The company frames its purpose around shifting the transport system toward a cleaner future, with sustainability as a stated goal across its global operations.
