Tyson Foods is a multi-national, protein-focused food company founded in 1935 in Springdale, Arkansas. It began as a chicken transport business, and transportation and logistics remain central to its operations: the company moves product across more than 150 facilities globally, spanning the food system from farm to table. Tyson Foods produces approximately 20% of the beef, pork, and chicken in the United States and generates roughly $54 billion in enterprise revenue.

The company's output covers beef, pork and chicken as well as prepared foods, pizza toppings and tortillas. Its protein portfolio includes the Tyson®, Jimmy Dean®, Hillshire Farm®, Ball Park®, Wright®, Aidells® and State Fair® brands. Around 133,000 team members work across its operations, which include food and meat production, prepared foods, food manufacturing and transportation and logistics.

Tyson Foods has been under four generations of family leadership since it was founded on a simple vision during the Great Depression. The company states a mission of "feeding the world like family", with core values of hard work, humility and purpose, and a commitment to bringing food to every table safely, sustainably and affordably. It refers to its employees as team members.
