Western Power is a State Government-owned corporation that builds, maintains and operates the transmission and distribution electricity network serving 2.3 million customers across the south west of Western Australia. Its network, the South West Interconnected System (SWIS), connects homes, businesses and essential community infrastructure to an increasingly renewable energy mix. The organisation has operated for over 70 years.

Its work spans electricity transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy integration, microgrids, battery storage systems, autonomous and resilient networks, grid planning and infrastructure expansion, and industrial decarbonisation. Western Power is undertaking a once-in-a-generation expansion of transmission infrastructure, backed by $126 million invested in planning works across the northern, central and eastern corridors of Western Australia, intended to unlock industrial decarbonisation, service renewable generation and support regional economic growth.

Alongside the SWIS network, Western Power integrates microgrids and battery storage solutions as part of a strategy to expand transmission capacity and build autonomous networks resilient to climate change. Its stated vision is "working together to power a cleaner energy future", with a mission centred on the safety, reliability and affordability of electricity.
