Dangote Industries Limited

Nigerian industrial conglomerate active in cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, oil refining and petrochemicals, with logistics, maritime and distribution operations across 17 African countries.

Dangote Industries Limited operates logistics, maritime and distribution operations across Africa as part of a diversified industrial conglomerate founded in 1981 by Aliko Dangote. The group's activities span cement manufacturing, sugar and salt refining, fertilizer production, oil refining, petrochemicals, packaging, energy, mining and automotive manufacturing. Annual turnover exceeds US$4.3 billion and operations extend across 17 African countries, making it the largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa.

Much of the group's transport and haulage work stems from moving bulk industrial inputs and finished products. Dangote Cement Plc is the largest listed company in West Africa and the first Nigerian company on the Forbes Global 2000 list; the company states it took Nigeria to self-sufficiency in cement production almost single-handedly. Other major assets include the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, described as Africa's largest petroleum refinery, alongside a petrochemical plant and a fertilizer complex described as Africa's largest, both under construction.

The group is headquartered in Nigeria and its footprint covers West Africa and the wider continent. Its stated mission is to meet the basic needs of the African populace in food, shelter and construction materials through local, value-added production. Sustainability planning rests on seven pillars: Financial, Institutional, Economic, Operational, Environmental, Social and Cultural. The Aliko Dangote Foundation invests in healthcare, education and economic empowerment across Africa.
