Family-owned manufacturer, founded in 1949, of cranes, construction and mining equipment, aerospace components and wind and hydrogen technology, with 50,000+ employees in 50+ countries.

Liebherr is a family-owned manufacturer of construction equipment and technology, founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr on the strength of an invention: the world's first mobile tower crane, designed to be easily transported and quickly assembled on a job site. That founding product established a business now organised into 13 product segments, run by more than 50,000 employees across over 150 companies in more than 50 countries.

The group's machinery range spans mobile tower cranes and other crane systems, mining excavators, and heavy construction equipment, alongside aerospace components, wind energy solutions and hydrogen-powered construction site machinery. Engineering work also covers hydrogen power systems and intelligent automation systems under development. Industries served include construction, mining, aerospace, wind and renewable energy, and heavy machinery.

Liebherr remains 100% owned by the founding family across three generations. The company states that long-term thinking outweighs short-term gains, and that it preserves the founder's principles of engineering quality and practical innovation. Operations are rooted in Germany, with a global footprint of more than 50 countries.
